Welcome to Deep Play for Kids™!
Information for Parents and Caregivers
DPK is a holistic, mindfulness-based approach to helping children thrive — emotionally, physically, and socially — through playful, embodied practices.
It combines tools like yoga, breathwork, movement, and creative expression to support kids in developing:
- Emotional regulation
- Focus and calm
- Self-awareness and confidence
- Joyful connection with themselves and others
The name “Deep Play” reflects the idea that play isn’t just fun — it’s a meaningful, transformative experience that helps children grow from the inside out.
Missy offers DPK in both individual and group settings.
If you'd like to talk to Missy about working one on one with the child (or children) in your life, please reach out using the Contact form on this website, or send an email to: missy@missy-brown.com. She checks this email account daily, unless she's in program or out of cell signal range.
Missy is also honored to offer DPK at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, Mass. Every spring, summer, and sometimes fall, Kripalu brings Missy back to lead kids ages 6 - 12 through this magical couple of days. Please check out the Programs page on this site to see the upcoming sessions. Please note Kripalu sells out fast, so book early.

No!! In fact, the point is to offer kids and teens various tools and techniques they can apply in every day life. Missy calls it "filling their tool box."
Many DPKers teach some of the tools to their family members!
Also, Missy created a few different types of DPK products you can use anywhere, to make it even easier to keep using the skills and remember they are always available.
